- After-school programs with bilingual Somali-English mentors in Minneapolis and St. Paul, providing homework help, language development, and cultural exchange activities.
- Leadership training for East African and minority youth, offering workshops on public speaking, community organizing, and civic engagement.
- College preparation and career planning support in partnership with local schools, community colleges, and universities, including help with applications, scholarship searches, and career exploration.
- Culturally responsive family literacy and mentoring initiatives that strengthen intergenerational communication and provide parents with the tools to support their children’s education.

 

Safe and stable housing is the foundation for a healthy and successful life. Our housing programs aim to help families secure and maintain housing while also understanding their rights and responsibilities.
- Housing search and application support with interpretation services in Somali, Amharic, Oromo, and other languages to ensure families understand all requirements and opportunities.
- Tenant rights education and budgeting workshops in collaboration with Minnesota housing advocates, helping families to avoid eviction and manage housing expenses.
- Crisis intervention for at-risk immigrant and refugee families, connecting them to emergency housing resources and mediation with landlords.

 

Our seniors and newly arrived immigrants face unique challenges in adapting to life in Minnesota. We provide direct support to help them integrate into the community while maintaining their cultural identity.
- Employment and skills training for seniors, tailored to the abilities and interests of older adults, in collaboration with Minnesota workforce centers.
- Social activities in cultural community centers across Minneapolis and St. Paul, promoting mental health, reducing isolation, and encouraging community connections.
- Navigation assistance for immigrants accessing Minnesota public services, including health care, transportation, legal aid, and benefits enrollment.
 

Lifeline Community Center Inc is currently able to provide Senior & Immigrant Support Services directly through our dedicated staff and community volunteers. Youth Empowerment & Education and Housing Stabilization Services are delivered in close collaboration with trusted community organizations. This collaborative approach ensures that our community members receive a holistic network of culturally responsive, language-accessible, and needs-based support.
